Some events allow a level of selfish introspection. A moment of idle reflection...to pause and take things into account....and others immediately shift life on its bearings to face other realities. It's in the midst of these realities that we learn who we are. Who our families truly are. What our core values amount to if any.
It's been raining for three days off an on. Flooding the streets...
And I walked through puddles emblazoned by streetlamps...
This is news that all families hear at some time or another.
It's this human thing.
But we rarely expect it when it comes...let alone hold onto the faculties that can give it meaning in words...
My mother is ill.
And...we are scrambling to set up lines of communication.
Sitting in front of computers gathering every conceivable amount of information I can.
Passing it along in numbered lists...
"Protect the immune system, do a liver flush, juice these specific fruits and vegetables..."
While you endure THIS.
After raising three kids...
Working her entire life. In the Universities. In Nature. In her churches of inspiration.
And sharing so much with the world.
A true figure in the fields she loved...
Now this.
And...I don't have time to 'process'.
I only have time to move...to research...to share...and act in the most efficient ways I know now...
We think we have time...
We think we have time...
We'd love to think...
But time's got us too.
